2007 - 2009 Biennial Report

During the 2007-2009 biennium, the Board continued to invest in strategies that support families where parents or children have mental health challenges or special needs, parents who struggle with substance abuse or domestic violence, and families who have been reported to child protective services but screened out. These focused efforts direct the Board’s resources to families facing multiple challenges that put them at high risk for abuse and neglect.

The Board also continued its commitment to universally accessible, strength-based parenting. In this biennium The Board funded 20 comprehensive Family Resource Centers around the state, and forged partnerships across systems to reach even more families.

"We remain committed to supporting evidence-based and evidence-informed programs and services; at the same time we recognize the importance of supporting innovative and creative ways to meet the complex needs of families in the 21st Century."
